Geometry Converter is a Revit® add-in that turns almost any geometry into clean, editable native families. Use it to convert existing Families, Generic Models (Model In Place), and now geometry from linked files like DWG, DXF, STP, STL, SAT, SKP, OBJ, IFC and more.

Getting Started

1. Launch the Plugin

• Open the plugin window in Revit.
• The window auto-hides in Family Editor.
• Works only in Revit Project.

2. Select Elements to Convert

You have three ways:

• Manual Selection: Select elements in Revit; plugin auto-detects and adds valid ones.
• Select All Elements: Click "Select All Elements" button; adds all compatible elements.

• Filter by Type: Choose from Tab on the left (Revit Families, Generics, IFC links, CAD links, Other Imports) displays only relevant elements.

3. Review Selected Elements

The table displays on single conversion:

• Checkbox: Select/deselect for conversion.
• Name: Original element name.
• Eye Icon: Isolate element in view.
